The rainy season holidays have come to an end and the children are starting back at state school. We have spent time checking that all the children have uniforms and books and are ready to start the new school year.
This means that the center is less busy again, in fact for the first few weeks of the new term we are pretty quite. This is due to the fact that the children are still sorting out their timetables, and getting used to having classes for the full school day (after three months of just coming here), so take a little time to adjust. This gives us the perfect chance to re-organise some of our classes, checking everyone’s levels and progression and fitting in new students.
Sadly a large number of the students are having to stay home this week under our orders due to a mass breakout of pink eye/conjunctivitis. It is very contagious, so we have been handing out batches of eye-drops and having to insist children stay home until they have got rid of it. Although this seems harsh it is the only way to ensure it doesn’t spread to literally everyone!
